Keeping Warm on the North Fork
‘Ello again, friends. \r\n\r\nIt has been a long cold winter here on the North Fork, but never fear dear readers, as I have managed to keep myself warm in the arms of a beautiful young lass from the big city. We spent our days frolicking in the snow and our nights were filled with Monty Python reruns, Raman Noodles and, of course, the best wines in the world. Yes friends, I have been drinking lots and lots of wine. \r\n\r\nI find that as we warm our tootsies fireside, the reds taste best and I must say that these long winter nights have give us the opportunity to try them all. \r\n\r\nHere’s a short list of my favourites:\r\n\r\n2002 Hungarian Oak Merlot from Comtesse Therese\r\n2000 Point House Merlot from Galluccio Family Wineries\r\n1999 Cabernet Sauvignon from Laurel Lake Vineyards\r\n2000 Merlot from Loughlin Vineyards\r\n\r\nBut when I went overboard on the Osprey's Dominion, Richmond Creek Spice Wine, I must have lost my head. There’s something about warm wine that puts me into a tailspin. Alas, I made the ultimate mistake. Without asking my young companion, I invited another pretty bird that I recently met at a tarot card reading at Gallucio, to join us for a romp in the Jacuzzi. Needless to say, neither of these ladies was too thrilled to see the other and I have once again found myself drinking alone. \r\n\r\nNo problems though, as spring is on its way, which means a new and exciting season of wine, women and song. In fact, I will be broadening my horizons this spring by participating in classes at the Stony Brook University Center for Wine, Food and Culture. Stay tuned as I share my new knowledge my friends and, in the meantime, keep on sipping.
