Description of Comtesse Therese:
Comtesse Therese of Aquebogue, Long Island, New York is an artisanal producer of fine red wines, principally owned by Theresa Dilworth, native New Yorker and 4th generation Long Islander. For its first four vintages - 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 - Comtesse Therese wines were made using merlot, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay grapes harvested from various North Fork of Long Island vineyards. Starting with 2004, a small quantity of cabernet sauvignon from the estate vineyard in Aquebogue was harvested, and those estate wines will be released in 2006.
